Two Killed As Military Chopper Crashes

Two military officials were killed on Monday when a helicopter slammed in Machakos region, eastern Kenya, a Kenya Defense Forces, KDF, official said.
The U.S.- made MD-530F gunship, which went down at about 11.00 a.m. in Kanyonga town, was on a preparation flight, heading for Garissa in upper east Kenya from Nairobi, KDF representative, Zipporah Kioko, said.
The two, of the position of Major, kicked the bucket on the spot,' Kioko said in an announcement.
The reason for the accident was not promptly settled.
The chopper is among six U.S.- made light assault helicopter gunships that the Kenya Army Aviation procured in January, specialists said.
They were a piece of an underlying request of 12 light assault and observation helicopters intended to improve the capability of the military in the wake of supported assaults by al-Shabab aggressors, they said.
